Memorials and Donations

We like to keep a record of all the memorials placed in the park and the donations received to help with the upkeep and development of Pannett Park.

The list below contains information regarding all recently created memorials and donations received:

Water Lilies
May 14th 2011. Planting water lilies donated by the descendants of Captain Thomas Kirby whose daughters funded the building of the original lily pool in the 1920s.

Parrotia persica (Persian Ironwood)
Tree donated by TGP Landscape Architects to celebrate the new tree planting as part of the park restoration.

Peter Turner
A memorial bench to Peter, a valued Friend of Pannett Park is situated by the lily pool.

Prunus Serrula (cherry)
To commemorate one thousand hours of gardening by the volunteers, and planted by Whitby mayor Robert Broadley in May 2006.
