Jurassic Garden
A featured area depicts the Jurrasic coastal aspect of Whitby and forms a link with the fossil collection in the museum. Planting echoes the plant life of the Jurrasic period. The garden incorporates a footpath with details of fossils likely to be found in the cliffs around Whitby, and also incorporates a replica of a Gharial crocodile, the earliest example of a complete marine crocodile that was found in 1824 at Saltwick near Whitby.
Leaflet available in museum linking garden with exhibits in the museum.
